For our last gathering of the year, the Malaysia Forum in Paris is pleased to invite you to catch up with Marina Mahathir, women’s rights and human rights activist, over a simple halal dinner. The informal discussion will centre on the general state of Malaysia today, at least from Marina’s perspective, ‘with a specific focus on religion and politics’. (See Marina’s blog at http://rantingsbymm.blogspot.com) Marina says: ‘Unless the topic makes you squeamish, do come with interesting questions.’

Marina Mahathir was President of the Malaysian AIDS Council for 12 years. She is also a longtime columnist for The Star, a blogger, Facebooker and Twitterer(@netraKL) and a producer of the award-winning TV programme, 3R – Respect, Relax, Respond. Currently she sits on the Board of Sisters in Islam, which advocates for justice and equality for Muslim women, is a member of the International Advisory Council of the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh and was listed as one of the 100 most influential people working for women and girls in the world by WomenDeliver.org in 2011.
